Race Information

Fifth* Shorthanded Race, Saturday, September 8

The fifth and final BIYC shorthanded series sailboat race is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday Sept 8. Below is information about the course.

COURSE: We will be using the DYC nearshore course again. There is a link to a nice map of the marks involved in this course, along with their GPS coordinates, below. Let’s do the course CLOCKWISE, as we’ve done in the previous races . So after starting between G and the pier, sail up the north shore to the north mark, then cut across the lake to the middle-of-park-point mark, then sail up the point to finish at G. (Finish by taking G to PORT, so basically you finish by crossing the starting line in reverse. Please take all the other marks to starboard.) Try your best to keep track of who finished in front of you and who finished behind you. IMPORTANT NOTE: THE PARK POINT MARK MAY HAVE BEEN PULLED. If so, please sail instead to the GPS coordinates of that mark and then make your turn. Those coordinates are: 46.44.448N, 92.02.402 (The marks by the bridge and up the north shore are both supposed to still be in place.)

START TIMES: We will be doing a staggered start based on the PHRF rating of your boat. If you don’t know your start time and you can’t find your make/model of boat on the DYC list, PLEASE CONTACT ME OR ART AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN FIGURE OUT A RATING AND START TIME FOR YOU!

LET US KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO RACE THIS SATURDAY! Please shoot me an email no later than 9am on Saturday if you intend to race. Please let me know the name of your boat, make and model, and whether it will just be you or you plus one other. (Please send the names of all crew.)

LAST SECOND UPDATES/INFORMATION: If there are any late changes, cancellations, etc., we will email everyone who has expressed the intent to race by 10am. Please monitor #72 during the race.
